Morgan County Middle School Academic Team: A Winning Tradition! 

MCMS Academic Champs

The Morgan County Middle School Academic Team hosted the 2017 KAAC Governor’s Cup District Competition on both January 17th and 21st. On January 17th, students competed in both the Written Composition and the Future Problem Solving Events. The remaining events, Math, Social Studies, Language Arts, Science, Arts and Humanities and Quick Recall competitions were held on Saturday, January 21st. The results from these competitions were spectacular and provide evidence of this team’s commitment to excellence. Once again, the award-winning team came home with the 1st Place District Championship title. This makes the seventh consecutive year the team has dominated in District Governor’s Cup. Their coaches, Theresa Williams and David Frazier are excited about these stellar results, adding much of the team’s success is due to their work ethic. The team, as well as individual players will advance to Regional competition at Jackson County Schools on February 4th, 2017. Listed below are individual results: 

2nd Place, Quick Recall: Brady Lawson, Robbie Johnson, Aliya Frisby, Trent Daniel, Timothy Smith, Ryan Collinsworth, J Weber, Bella Trimble 

2nd Place, Future Problem Solving: Robbie Johnson, J Webber, Kaylee Welch, Brayden Gullett 

Written Assessment, Mathematics: 1st Place, Trent Daniel; 5th Place, Timothy Smith
