Mrs. Charles began teaching in 2014 and came to Morgan County High School in Jan. 2018. She has a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Morehead State University.

Prior to teaching, Mrs. Charles was a sports journalist, covering high school and college athletic events from Pikeville to Covington. 

Mrs. Charles hails from Johnson County and is a graduate of Johnson Central High School. She is married to Scooter Charles, a Social Studies teacher, and they have two sons -- Easton and Maddux. 

In addition to teaching English, Mrs. Charles is an avid reader and is usually in the midst of a great fiction novel. She also enjoys photography, travelling, history and the Chicago Cubs. 

She currently teaches English I, English II, Journalism and Credit Recovery and is a sponsor for the Class of 2021.
